Hockey Pucks and Missiles.
Cory Eikelenboom, a recent graduate from the Construction Engineering Technology program at Niagara College and now Field Engineer at Rankin Construction, had a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Here’s a photo of Cory with former professional NHL star Guy Lafleur holding a 155mm High Explosive round. Behind them is an M777 Howitzer, which Cory manned as an artilleryman for 8 months in Kandahar, Afghanistan with the 2nd Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
While in Afghanistan, Guy Lafleur and other famous Canadians visited Cory’s Forward Operating Base as VIP guests. Cory currently serves as a reserve soldier with 10 Battery, 56 Field Regiment in St.Catharines.
