The company specializes in a wide range of heavy civil construction projects that include roads, bridges, sewer and water main, marine and renewable energy. We are looking for skilled Foremen to work in Niagara and Hamilton.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the foreman must mainly see to managing the construction site activities he is in charge of.
• Determine, along with the Project Manager, the needs in materials and supplies and issue orders with the procurement and logistics department;
• Coordinate work of subcontractors, the various specialties, and other trades according to the Project Manager’s instructions;
• Supervise, coordinate, and organize the work of construction site employees.
• Train workers and see to their training—construction site procedures, safety rules, emergency measures, etc.;
• Fill out time sheets and list of items and submit them to the payroll department;
• Establish, along with the Project Manager, manpower requirements;
• Establish work methods, in collaboration with the Project Manager, which enable respecting delivery calendars and coordinate activities with other departments;
• Solve work-related issues and recommend measures aiming at increasing productivity;
• Ensure compliance with labor safety standards and monitor it;
• Verify construction site inventory—equipment, tooling, and materials—and properly record.
Qualifications / Skills
5 to 10 years’ experience in Heavy Civil Construction; Road, Water-Sewer, Bridge-Structure, site grading etc…
Problem solving skills and ability to give direction to workers
Ability to physically demonstrate & lead by example
Valid G Drivers License
Excellent writing, oral communication skills.
