Job Description
Rankin Construction Inc. is seeking motivated Construction / Quality Control Technicians.
Must have experience in field and lab testing of construction materials such as asphalt, aggregates, concrete and soils. Preferred candidates will have proven experience on MTO or similar projects.
Duties / Responsibilities
*As a member of Rankin Construction Inc. as a quality control technician, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Conducting material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of our QC or QA programs.
• Assisting in laboratory testing of construction materials such as asphalt, aggregates, concrete and soils.
• Participating in activities related to the quality system.
• Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and OHSA regulations.
• Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs
• Attending technical training programs as required.
• Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Rankin Construction’s clients and subcontractors.
• Willing to learn office and scheduling skills is an asset.
Qualifications / Skills
• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or relevant program is an asset
• Technical knowledge of aggregate and asphalt quality
• Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
• Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals, excellent communications skills
• Proven ability to utilize current technologies, i.e. computer skills
• Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
• Strong problem solving skills
• Able to perform in a fast paced environment and heavy lifting
• Available to work outdoors, weekends and day or night shift
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• G License and clean drivers abstract
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• Team Player
