AIM PowerGen Corporations's (now International Power Canada) Erie Shores Wind Farm second phase projects. The joint venture of AMEC/Black & McDonald contracted Rankin Construction to build the wind turbine foundations and access roads for 24 wind turbines. The work also included constructing the crane pads and other access requirements. Each spread footing foundation required 27 tonnes of rebar, 320 cubic meters of concrete and accurate embedment of 120 anchor bolts. Rankin crews were completing 3 turbine bases per week in order to maintain the aggressive schedule and complete the project on time.
