The project involved the construction of a large truck marshalling area, including underground sewers and drainage systems, concrete work, and asphalt paving. Complications arose early in the project when an unknown Native burial area was discovered. An archeological team was called in to supervise. Rankin Construction developed a plan that used innovative construction techniques to ensure that the graves remained undisturbed and the project continued. All work was performed in stages to accommodate the flow of traffic over the Peace Bridge and the time deadlines were met despite the project’s unusual complications.
