What will my role be?
A construction labourer plays a vital role in supporting the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of construction projects. Working under the supervision of foremen, site superintendents, and project managers, the labourer performs a wide range of physical and practical tasks to maintain productivity and site safety.
As a Skilled Labourer you will:
- Assist foreman, equipment operators, and supervisors with their tasks by providing materials, tools, and general support.
- Perform site preparation and clean-up duties, including clearing debris, sweeping, removing waste, and maintaining orderly work areas.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment around the site as directed.
- Operate basic hand tools and small equipment safely and effectively, such as shovels, rakes, compactors, or power drills.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding, barricades, and fencing as required.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
- Support in measuring, marking, and laying out work areas according to plans or instructions.
- Perform other general labour and maintenance tasks as assigned to keep the project progressing on schedule.

What we’re looking for!
Are you a collaborative and driven individual with:
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take direction from supervisors.
- Awareness of site safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is an asset.
Assets that will set you apart are:
- Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s license: Being able to travel independently to and from multiple project sites ensures you’re reliable and available where and when you’re needed most.
- Minimum 2 years experience within the heavy civil construction sector: Whether you’ve worked on roads, bridges, sewer and watermain, or earthworks—this hands-on experience shows you’re comfortable on active job sites and know what it takes to contribute effectively.
- Experience with a Variety of Tools and Site Tasks: From operating compact equipment to assisting formwork, pipe crews, or grading teams— versatility is a major asset in keeping projects moving efficiently.
- Training and Certification in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and Confined Space Entry: Safety certifications not only show your readiness for site conditions, but also reflect a responsible and proactive approach to your trade.
- Ability to Work in a Fast-paced, Weather-exposed Environment: Demonstrated stamina and resilience—whether working in heat, rain, or cold—proves you’re dependable through all seasons.
- Willingness to extend hours, when necessary: A strong team player understands that sometimes early starts, longer days, or weekend shifts are necessary to meet project milestones.
- Eagerness to Learn and Grow within the Trade: A positive attitude toward skill development and mentorship opens the door to advancement opportunities within our company.
