At Rankin Construction, environmental responsibility is a cornerstone of our operations. We are dedicated to preserving the natural environment and minimizing our ecological footprint through every stage of construction.
Our team follows the strictest environmental guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and to exceed industry standards. From erosion and sediment control to waste management and habitat protection, every project is approached with sustainability in mind. We work closely with environmental consultants, regulatory bodies, and our clients to ensure that our work not only meets expectations—but protects the land, water, and air for future generations. In addition to maintaining the highest environmental standards on construction sites, Rankin is deeply committed to environmental stewardship beyond the jobsite.

Over the past several years, we have launched a number of initiatives aimed at harnessing the power of the natural environment and embracing emerging green technologies. Rankin has developed, constructed, and currently operates three hydro-generating stations along the Welland Canal, two wind turbine farms located in West Lincoln and Wainfleet, and a solar farm in St. Catharines. We have also played a key role in the development and construction of several other renewable energy structures across Ontario.
Most recently, we have expanded our investment in sustainability by building a fleet of electric vehicles, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and lowering our overall emissions. These efforts reflect Rankin’s ongoing dedication to making a positive, lasting impact on the environment through innovation, leadership, and action.
